Shelves are bought, screwed together and thrown out at the third house move — because the home changes, not the furniture. Montique is built to change: take it apart, build it again, extend it. As often as your life asks for it.
The joint: one node, four profiles — each one slides in.

Montique reduces furniture making to a single basic element: the aluminium profile with its integrated joint. No visible screws, no add-on connectors, no hidden mechanics. The same profile stands as a side panel, lies as a shelf, divides as a divider.

The profile
Two formats: 18 and 36 centimetres. The connecting geometry is part of the profile — not screwed on, not glued in.
The joint
The profiles interlock positively and without play. An expansion dowel fixes the connection — made to unusually tight tolerances.

Sideboards, shelving walls, room dividers — from the same profile, recombined at any time.
The build
Board by board.
The feet are standing. The first shelves slide into the joint.
The side panels slide into the same joint — by hand, without tools.
Every shelf slides into the joint — positively, without play.

Anodised in five tones — the joint stays the same.
The joint
Visible.
Not hidden.
Where other systems hide their engineering, Montique shows it. The joint is part of the design — and made precisely enough to carry the structure.
Slide
Every element slides into the same joint — clear without instructions, without tools.
Fix
One tool, one movement: the expansion dowel tightens the connection without play.
Rebuild
The same in reverse: release, reposition, extend.
Material & manufacture
Anodising is not a coating.
When aluminium is anodised, the surface turns into a hard oxide layer of its own: it protects the metal — and the colour is embedded in that layer, not applied on top. Nothing can flake off. Scratch-resistant, UV-stable, permanently colourfast.

Aluminium — light, dimensionally stable, 100 % recyclable.
Finish
Anodised in five tones — from silver to gold, with metallic depth.
Manufacture
In Germany, in small batches, with specialist partners.
Compatibility
Every profile stays compatible — batch after batch.
It moves house with you.
First flat, then the bigger one. First books, then vinyl, then both. Montique is not replaced along the way but rebuilt — taken apart, set up again, extended. What grows with you does not need replacing.
